Meet Owner

Meighan Kirkpatrick owner of Healing Spirit Sanctuary Bio 6/12/24
Born and raised in Tucson, AZ. September 15, 1979. Home of the Largest Gem Show in the United States since 1955. She began collecting rocks at 4/5yrs old or even as early as when she first began to walk. As her mother states, “she never really played with toys, instead it was nature, rocks, plants, mud, bugs, crystals, and animals.” She has always been fascinated by and admired the natural world around her. Her entire room growing up was her crystal, rock, shells, sticks, feathers and roots collection. Both of her Grandfather’s were rock hounds and crystal collectors. One Grandfather had a large petrified wood collection that was mostly self found, one of Meighan’s fondest memories is of him telling her the stories of each piece/ specimen he found. Her other Grandfather was an entrepreneur and owned and operated the Ceder Creek Trading Post in the White Mountains on the Apache Reservation during the late 1940’s to mid 1970’s. He collected clear Quartz points, clusters, and turquoise found in Arizona.
Meighan dug her first mineral at age 5 on Mt. Lemmon in Tucson, AZ. It was a Lepidolite with Pink Elbaite/ Tourmaline running through it, she still has this mineral in her collection to this day 40 yrs later and she treasures it dearly, along with her entire childhood collection.
In addition to being an avid rock collector from a very early age, being from Tucson she has attended the Tucson Gem Show for a large part of her life. She has always looked forward to finding and admiring the abundant treasures from all across the world.
In addition to being an avid rock collector from a very early age, being from Tucson she has attended the Tucson Gem Show for a large part of her life. She has always looked forward to finding and admiring the abundant treasures from all across the world. The culmination of diversity and connection that occurs not only with the stones, but with people, from every country and culture across the globe is beautiful and spectacular. The stones connect people from all over the world. Many dealers know her from years ago shopping as an a collector on into her years of realizing her long time dream of running her own crystal, mineral and gemstone jewelry business.
After graduating HS she moved to Portland, OR to attend the University of Portland and got her BS degree in Organizational Communication with a minor in Marketing Management. She then moved to San Diego and became a civilian, military contractor selling Com training and tactical warfare training to the various military branches USMC, Navy SEALS, Airforce and Navy in San Diego for 7 years. She has had many different careers, food service, real estate, medical sales and more, yet none felt like her calling, but rather a stepping stone on her journey. In 2009, She began studying the healing arts, holistic health, herbalism, traditional Chinese medicine and bodywork practices. In her studies, she learned about the ancient healing practices and traditions of diverse cultures from all over the world, and was fascinated by the history of holistic practices throughout the centuries. It was an integral step into the path of true self for her. She graduated the Healing Arts College and began her practice while continuing to work a full time career.
In 2013 she moved back to her hometown, Tucson, where her family resides and opened a Holistic Healing and Bodywork practice with a partner. She then attended Arizona School of Integrative Studies in Tucson to further her holistic health practitioner education. Side note: (I got pregnant during this second college of healing arts…completed it at 7 months pregnant…had Kellen and had to put my business and career on pause) she had some life changes
When her son Kellen was 3 in 2017 she went out on her own and launched Healing Spirit Sanctuary a holistic health and medical bodywork practice. She made organic herbal skincare products and introduced and integrated the stones into her practice.
On July 4th, 2017 she was in a severe, fluke 4th of July Firework accident. She was struck in the chest from less than 50 ft away by an illegal firework at a neighborhood firework show. The firework struck her and stuck into her chest and then exploded. The shrapnel cut her and the firework literally set her on fire. Her hair and clothes were on fire and she had to physically rip the firework out of her chest. She had 3rd degree burns on her chest, arms, torso and the hand that pulled the firework out of her chest. She was rushed to the ER and the doctors and nurses bandaged her up sent her home and told her to come back in the morning to get checked and referred to a burn specialist for degrading of her multiple burns. She went home put her son to bed and sat on the couch in silence to process the traumatic experience she had just went through. She decided to hold a Namibian Black Tourmaline in her burnt hand. She began meditating, praying and visualizing her cells growing back together, the literal scientific healing process happening in fast forward. She went to bed then in the morning returned to the ER. The same doctors and nurses were there from the night shift. They removed her bandages and were in utter shock. Her 3rd degree burns had degraded themselves and she had healed over a weeks worth in less than 8 hrs time. Her rapid healing was unheard of, impossible, miraculous. It was not the crystal that healed her. The crystal was a tool,a conduit, to focus her intentions and visualize/manifest her healing in addition to her mindset being in a place of gratitude in this situation. Gratitude that her 3 year old son was not sitting in her lap in which the firework would have hit him in the face. Gratitude that it struck her and not the 98 yr old Nana or 2 week old baby sitting next to her. She could handle this injury and overcome it.
Despite the above circumstances she had planned a huge public community event for months before, guerrilla marketing all over town, and decided to stay steadfast with her launch date. On July 6, 2017, just 2 days after this severe accident she launched her first public, community Healing Spirit Sanctuary event. She single handedly hosted, organized, ran and operated monthly Spiritual Community Events bringing in other small local businesses and products. Such as Tarot Readings, Psychic readings, Henna Tattoo, energy work, Reflexology, Art, Baked goods, organic skin products and makeup, local honey, kombucha, salsas, yoga and guided meditation classes and her/ Healing Spirit Sanctuary crystal and jewelry shop products.
Her holistic health and medical bodywork practice was very successful and thriving booking 2-3 months out, then COVID happened. She had to shut down her practice, quarantine fully (due to elderly parents) and full time homeschool her 5 yr old son (for 1 year.) she had no other income except from her Holidtic Health Practice that was now shut down completely. She had to figure out how to financially survive and support herself and her son. She had sourced a fair amount of crystals that were brought into her practice, and had many connections and relationships built from attending the Tucson Gem Show for so many years of her life she decided to start doing live crystal shows on facebook from her kitchen. She began building a diverse, online community with clients from all over the world. She then expanded to Instagram and TikTok social media platforms to continue to grow this community through Live shows. She had no online presence on any platform prior to Covid, nor any experience making content or doing live shows.
Now in 2025, she has grown and built a community of very diverse people of all different ages, backgrounds, cultures and belief systems, at the core/ heart of it is the crystals and stones. It is an uplifting, empowering, inclusive, fun, open minded, supportive, positive and high vibing, authentic, healing environment. We are all healing together. She has grown exponentially in the last 5+ years and now offers live shows 7 days a week, has three employees and 2 amazing women working with and for her with continuous growth every day.
Over the years she has maintained her love of stones, nature, animals, people and all the magick and diversity in the world, art, cultures, healing modalities, traditions and more. She shares her passion and perspective of all these things with the world and has built a strong, ever growing business.
